2011 Valentine’s Day Ideas. 3 Simple Ways.

by Fred Victor

It’s V-Day!

It’s time for the most awaited and romantic moment of the year again – Valentine’s Day, where ladies buy new dress for dinner while guys dress themselves like little prince, and pay high price for roses.

Though I believe some married couples particularly those with kids would never indulge in these “love-me-tender” moments, probably just let the day go past like nothing at all. It doesn’t sound like Ronan Keating’s “When you say nothing at all” huh.

I’d suggest that guys should pilot to rejuvenate the V-Day romance with your loved ones; Remember, it’s not only applicable to courtship dating okay.

Let’s have a shot on how to make this V-Day happen (on a cost effective manner) this year.

1. Enjoy a Long and Private Weekend

Coincidently, this Feb 14 falls on Monday followed by a Public Holiday (Nabi Muhammad’s birthday) on the subsequent day. Let’s assume that you take a leave on the Feb 14, you will have a long 4-day weekend, sound great huh?

If you’re married, just ask your relatives to help taking care of your kids for just a weekend. So you’ll have some privacy with your spouse, maybe for “Reconnect Your First Date” moment: let’s say bringing him/her for a walk, a movie, and/or a romantic lunch then dinner in town. It’s needless to go somewhere so far away.

What if you prefer not to go elsewhere, probably just stay at home and have some privacy you’ve had since your kids were born. Oops … isn’t it another great idea?

2. Write a Genuine Love Letter

Let’s grab a pen and a piece of paper, write something heartfelt – from the bottom of your heart. Forget about those Valentine’s Card, and forget about writing only “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

It’s pretty touching if it’s genuinely written on a paper and sealed with envelop. Your spouse will definitely keep it for the rest of him/her life … no joke!

3. Make Your Own Heartfelt Movie

Gather some of your photos – from the day you first started dating, proposed marriage, get married, quarreled etc. until current, if any. Create your own slideshow presentation by MS PowerPoint, it’s pretty cool if it’s created by Windows Movie Maker (provided you know) as the latter provides plenty fancy movie effects. If you don’t but intend to have one, you can ask this fellow – Google.

Remember to insert “time stamps”, “love messages”, “video clips” etc. between the photos. More importantly, you should choose a meaningful “theme song” of our own for background music. How sweet huh.

Let’s go for it all, and saying “something stupid” like I LOVE YOU.

Happy Valentine’s Day 2011! Have fun ;-)
