Luxury Hotel-like Bedroom Décor Ideas

Have you ever dreamed of having a bedroom as luxurious as that of the 5-star hotels? Creating a luxurious and stylish bedroom isn’t as easy as it sounds because you need to look into each and every detail of your bedroom to get a luxury hotel bedroom décor. We’ve gathered some pictures of our collections on luxurious bedroom designs. Let’s have some fun with your bedroom by applying some ideas, you’ll make it tastes like a hotel.

Step 1

Select a Hotel’s Theme

When designing a hotel guest room, hotels usually develop a color palette and scheme that fits with their themes or locations e.g. the garden, golf course, desert or beach etc.).

This applies to yours – you need to develop a “theme” for your bedroom as it’s the place which reflects your taste and style. Sounds great huh?

Decorate Your Bed

Earth-tone, consistent white  and plain are the core elements that most hotels have in common.

Bed is the prominent area as the colour of a hotel room is brought up by the bedspreads, pillows and other bedding accessories – either matching or coordinating curtains, which are generally always in earth-tone colours.

You can consider of what hotel rooms share another common element of having quality, commercial grade furnishings and carpet, quality room-darkening draperies and bedspreads and the finest linens. Hotel towels and washcloths are consistently white and clean.

Buying quality products for your own home is often less costly in the long run because quality products are more durable and last much longer than sub-standard merchandise. For instance, cheap towels often fray after their very first encounter with a washing machine. But, high quality towels often continue to look fluffy and new even after 40-50 washings.

Space Up Your Bedroom

Most hotels often take a small space and create a flexible place for the guest for various activities.

Simply space up your bedroom according to your desired activities that you want to perform besides sleeping. For instance, you can consider adding a (1) snack area with mini refrigerator, (2) executive working table and chair, or (3) small reading area.

Snacks Area

Here’s an area where guests can have their food, drinks and snacks.  

Simply transform a corner of your bedroom for your food and beverage by adding a chair or two plus a small table. It’s a better idea than having to go to the kitchen for a refreshing beverage or snack while watching movie.

Light It Up

Some techniques are being used in 5-Star hotels.

Not necessary all techniques required, but you can apply some recommended ideas by installing (1) dimmer control on your every switch, (2) three-way switch bedside lamp, or (3) reading lights at your snacks or reading area.

Personalize Your Room

Most hotel rooms feature local art and interest magazines so their guests feel the connection with the city that they are visiting.

As for your case, you can consider displaying some of your favourite painting, antique items, books etc. so that you’ll feel connected.

More Sleep Means Better Health?

Wondering if anyone of us hadn’t been “brainwashed” to think that “more sleep” is ideal. This isn’t the case for all of us as sleep requirements vary significantly on factors like age, stress level and health condition.

We thought – we’re becoming more aware of the health risks associated with the lack of sleep nowadays, and the need to understand quality of sleep is essential.

Less Sleep

Sleep research findings have proven that a lack of sleep contributes to high blood pressure, aging, depression, weight gain etc. What’s more, it increases the chances of getting major illness including cancer, diabetes or heart disease.

More Sleep

On the other hand – getting too much sleep is hazardous to your health too. According to research findings, it may lead to higher risk for obesity, diabetes etc. if you’re getting too much sleep!

Anyway, the 2 scenarios depicted above have underpinned that the important of getting a quality and good night’s sleep should never be taken for granted. Here’s the suggestion by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS):-

1. Babies need typically 16 hours a day.

2. Teens should get around 9 hours of sleep each night.

3. Most adults require 7-8 hours a night (some adults may need as few as 5 hours or as much as 10 hours of sleep each night, depends on his/her health conditions).

Easy Bedroom Decorating Ideas

It’s pretty easy – simply adding or re-locating your existing items that you probably already have. It’s possible to give your bedroom a fresh and new look.

Colour

Color plays a major role in decor. For instance, cool blue and green colours give the room a restful atmosphere. By keeping wall colors neutral, you will have sense of space in decor with furniture and accessories. Let’s try adding something with mix and match patterns in bed linens, draperies and rugs.

Mix and match is a good strategy to employ with – by installing an entire matched bedroom suite with matched linens and draperies will make your bedroom look more stunning!

Lighting

Lighting is important, but not overhead lighting as it could be harsh. Let’s try adding table lamps on side tables by the bed and/or on your dressing table. Table lamps allow greater light when you're reading or working on crafts and lower light for general relaxing. Candles are considerable as they provide a warm glow in the bedroom.

No Overstuff

Don’t ever overstuff your bedroom. Let’s try keeping your furnishings to a minimum level – you’d create a more spacious atmosphere. Besides, placing a mirror on a wall can create the illusion of space too.
