Bed Bug? How to Prevent?

It’s pretty unfortunate when you are awaken in the morning, and noticed that your body is filled with unexplained itchy rashes. Probably, it’s proof that a bed bug had crawled up on your body for a “banquet”.

To deal with this problem, you should:-

  • Have an extensive cleaning of your bed room.
  • Bed sheets should be rinsed and washed, and exposed to the hot Sun as bed bugs are unable to survive under such temperature.
  • Throw away the old and unusable bed sheet, pillows or bolster.

Remember, beds are prime habitat for bed bugs. A typical mattress may have anywhere from 100,000 to 10 million mites inside! Bedroom rug and other household upholstery also support mite populations.

But, how do we recognize symptoms of bed bug? Here are some of possibilities:-

* Fever
* Watering eyes
* Runny nose
* Sneezing
* Asthma, difficulty in breathing
* Itchy eyes / nose
* Red eyes
* Cough
* Frequent awakening
* For a child, frequent upward rubbing of nose etc.

For more, you should consult a doctor as he/she can use skin tests and blood tests to confirm a suspected dust mite (or bed bug) allergy.

For a hygienic sleeping environment, you can actually have “anti-dust mite” bed sheet, pillows, bolster and other bedding accessories. Let's try Akemi, Akemi Medi+Health, AkemiUchi, and Cannon.
